I’ve known I wanted to study psychotherapy and work in mental health since I discovered the psychology section of my high school library. Until then, I didn’t know anything about mental health (the 90s were a different time). I grew up feeling pretty confused about my place in the world, and learning about psychology helped ground me. Since then, it’s been my vision to help others find a safe space where they can explore their feelings, understand themselves better, and start their own journeys towards healing and self-discovery.
In addition to being passionate about what I do, I want to let you know how I help. I approach therapy with hope and optimism. I truly believe that everyone can grow and change as long as have self-awareness, support, and the necessary skills. Therapy can provide you with all of these things.

Client testimonials:
“I’ve been seeing Britni for a little over 8 months and therapy was something I’d put off for a long, long time. But Britni has helped me incredibly - I have had a ton of growth and genuinely feel that I have a better handle on my anxiety. I’ve found out and learned so much about myself and have found it very beneficial. Very pleased.”

“I have been meeting with Britni for probably close to a year now, and truthfully, this has been the most helpful counseling I have ever received. I’ve been to counseling several other times in my life, but I have experienced more growth this time than I have any of the other times. I’m really grateful.”

Credentials:
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist / Illinois / License # 166.001363
About my license:
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I’m trained to work with multiple people in a family or system. If you’re seeing me for individual therapy, you also have the freedom to incorporate couples or family therapy into our work together.
My professional background:
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology in British Columbia, Canada. Following that, I dedicated ten years to working in community mental health in Minneapolis, MN while I also pursued and completed my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2018, I relocated to Illinois, where I worked at a counseling clinic near downtown Chicago. I then proceeded to establish my private practice in 2021 and I currently hold my license in the state of Illinois.
On a personal note:
I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, where I spent the first 18 years of my life. My love for travel—especially exploring Asia—has given me the chance to live in several countries and experience a variety of cultures. Now, as a mom to two young children, life is definitely busy, but I do my best to share my hobbies with them as we learn to do life together. We love hiking, listening and dancing to music, doing puzzles, baking, trying out new restaurants, reading, and finding any excuse to be outside.
